Why Sponsorships Matter for the Podcast

Hey everyone,

I wanted to take a quick moment to chat about something really important that helps keep Ireland Crimes and Mysteries going: sponsorship and ad revenue.

I know ads aren't everyone's favourite thing to hear, and I totally get it — we're all used to clicking “skip” or fast-forwarding. But when you support the sponsors you hear on the show (or even just let the ad play), you're genuinely helping to keep this podcast alive. Every little bit of that ad revenue goes directly towards the costs of producing, researching, editing, hosting, and publishing each episode. 

It’s just me behind the mic — there’s no team, no studio, just a lot of passion and a fair few late nights! So that support really does go a long way. It helps cover everything from sound equipment and editing software to website hosting and subscriptions for access to historical records, newspapers, and archives. Not to mention the time it takes to deeply research each case and tell the stories with care and respect.

And here's something I want you to know for sure:
I’ll only ever promote sponsors I genuinely believe in — products I’ve tried, used myself, and feel good recommending. If I wouldn’t spend my own money on it or use it regularly, it won’t be on the podcast. Simple as that.
